How to protect your passwords

One smart thing that you must practice if you’re a regular internet user, is to have different sets of passwords for different accounts. However, this becomes too overwhelming as the websites, apps, and services that you join in on, start to pile up.

If you want to store all of your passwords in a safe place, and by this, we don’t mean a notebook in your bedroom that your roommate can openly peruse, you have to use Safe-Passwords.

Safe-Passwords

Safe-Passwords is a password manager that comes with your Safesoft PC Cleaner subscription. It can be used via a mobile app and a browser extension which makes it easily accessible, wherever you may be.

One of its many useful features if you’re constantly buying things online is the Secure Wallet. This offering stores your credit card numbers safely, and makes your online shopping a breeze.

Furthermore, Safe-Passwords also comes with a Password Generator that can help you choose a password that’s almost impossible to crack.

Getting Started with Safe-Passwords

  1. Open Safesoft PC Cleaner.
  2. Click the Toolbox
  3. Choose Safe-Passwords.
  4. Safesoft will redirect you to an Install page using your default browser and will provide you with the choice of downloading between Safe-Passwords Chrome extension or Safe-Passwords Firefox extension.
  5. After the installation is finished, you will see a red shield icon located at the top right corner of your default browser.
  6. Click it and start setting up your account.

How to set up a Safe-Passwords account

  1. Choose a Username.
  2. Enter the desired Password. This will be the only password that you’ll have to remember for the rest of your life. Make it extra secure by adding at least 1 number1 capital letter1 special character, and a minimum of 8 characters.
  3. REMEMBER: The password that you will be creating above will act as your Master Key. It’s the only key that can unlock the encryption of the passwords that will be stored in your account. If you forget it, Safesoft will not be able to retrieve it for you.
  4. After you’ve finished entering your details, click Create Account.

Congratulations! You now have a Safe-Passwords account.
